My new body of work looks at the iconic image of the Geisha and its continuing fascination as an art form. In particular, the isolation of the Geisha and how they live their lives mainly away from the public gaze. I have tried to capture the beauty, elegance, isolation and perhaps loneliness? - trying to render a serenity and stillness. This work shows a young Geisha walking into the distance with a parasol.
