My new body of work looks at the iconic image of the Geisha and its continuing fascination as an art form. In particular, the isolation of the Geisha and how they live their lives mainly away from the public gaze. I have tried to capture the beauty, elegance, isolation and perhaps loneliness? - trying to render a serenity and stillness. The Geisha appears to float on the surface and it is intentional that she is not integrated into the background. This painting portrays a traditional Geisha. The work has been photographed with and without glass to omit glare. All works are original and are signed and dated.
